Mr. Lele has a new title and a new actor playing the titular role. After Varun Dhawan's exit, the Shashank Khaitan directorial has roped in Vicky Kaushal to play the lead role in Govinda Naam Mera. The announcement has been made with the first look posters of the leading cast, including Vicky and his two female leads, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar under his home banner, Dharma Productions, along with Viacom18.

While sharing Vicky's poster, Karan wrote, "Meet Govinda Waghmare! Heart of gold and dance moves are bold! " The photo features Vicky in a happy-go-lucky mode, showing off his dancing moves and infectious smile.

The next poster is of Bhumi, who plays Vicky's onscreen wife in Govinda Naam Mera. In the photo, Bhumi is seen in a vibrant look, wearing a green saree and giving a quirky expression. For her first look, KJo captioned it as "Mrs. Wagmare is a force to be reckoned with! Meet her in #GovindaNaamMera, in cinemas on June 10th, 2022. "

And the final first look poster is of Kiara, who plays Vicky's onscreen girlfriend in the film. She is seen in a yellow saree and donning a sexy look while posing for the poster. Johar wrote, "What’s a story without a few twists? And what’s a story without a gorgeous lady to bring them? "

Earlier, Shashank was set to direct Mr. Lele, and the film was announced for 2020. Bhumi and Kiara have been retained as the female leads, while Vicky has replaced Varun. The film was put on the backburner owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

Along with the first look posters, the makers have also announced the release date of Govinda Naam Mera. The film is slated to hit the big screens on June 10, 2022.
