Govinda Naam Mera on OTT: Here's how Karan Johar convinced 'intense' Vicky Kaushal for the film - Watch

Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani starrer Govinda Naam Mera is gearing up to release soon on Disney+ Hotstar. The upcoming comedy thriller film is written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. The OTT giant shared a new fun promo video that sees Karan Johar as a producer convincing the actor to act in the film.

The video begins with Vicky and Karan having a casual conversation, while the filmmaker asks the actor about his usual choices to essay mostly the intense roles in movies such as freedom fighters, and commandos. To this, the Raazi actor replies, "Yes, they all are serious but they all have a range."

KJo agrees with Vicky's statement and says that now he has become a star and he would like to see him doing a full-on masala movie. This takes the actor by surprise and he sceptically asks Karan if he is sure about it.

To convince the actor more, the filmmaker says, "There is a wide range is masala (movies). There's action, comedy, dance, drama and everything. I want to see #funvicky. 

Soon after that the Uri actor gets convinced and pleasantly overwhelmed at the same time. 

Moving on, Karan starts explaining his idea to Vicky and says that the name of the hero is Govinda and also clarifies that it is not a biopic on the 90s Bollywood star. 

The filmmaker shared the latest video on his official Instagram handle with a quirky caption that reads, "Ladies & gentlemen, @vickykaushal09 seems to have chosen...#FunVicky! Buckle up, you don’t want to be missing this ride! #GovindaNaamMera coming soon, only on Disney+ Hotstar. #GovindaNaamMeraOnHotstar (sic)."

Govinda Naam Mera, which also has Veenah Naair and Amy Aela, is slated to stream soon on Disney+ Hotstar.
