David Dhawan and Govinda were a hit director-actor duo in the 80s and 90s. They delivered several successful Bollywood films in the past. Recently, Govinda reunited with the acclaimed filmmaker at Ramesh Taurani's Diwali bash. Their reunion at the party hinted at their reconciliation. And now, Govinda has confirmed that he has patched up with Dhawan.
In an interview, the actor spoke about burying the hatchet with his filmmaker friend. Govinda clarified that their 'patch-up' had already happened. It was their second meeting at the Diwali bash.
Govinda on 'patch-up' with David Dhawan
Speaking with Bombay Times, Govinda said he is glad that people still feel he should work with David. Talking about their reconciliation, the actor added, "Our patch-up had already happened. This was our second meeting. It was a Diwali bash where we ate good food and had a great time. We don’t believe in raking up the past. Why mull over it? That’s not necessary."
The actor went on to mention, "Let bygones be bygones. Filmy talk wasn’t a priority, but when that happened, we only spoke about the happy memories and those were plenty."
Govinda on attending 'industry party' after a long time
In the same conversation, Govinda said he attended an 'industry party' after a period of 19-20 years. The actor praised Ramesh Taurani. According to Govinda, over the years, Bollywood parties have become 'group parties'.
He revealed that if a person doesn't belong to a certain 'group', he/ she is not invited to the bash. And when that person is not seen at the parties, it is assumed that he/ she is not social. "I am not anti-social at all, and I don’t believe in groups," added Govinda.

On the work front, Govinda was last seen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja. The actor's films with David Dhawan include Hero No 1, Coolie No 1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Deewana Mastana and more.
