Govinda, whose wife Sunita's alleged divorce has been in the news, recently had an unscripted chat with Mukesh Khanna. In an interview with the seasoned actor's YouTube channel, Govinda made the outrageous assertion that James Cameron gave him an unbelievable Rs 18 crore for the lead role in Avatar. The actor went on to say that he had even given the filmmaker a suggestion for the film's title.
Govinda remarked that he remembers this because it was very painful leaving an offer of Rs 21.5 crore. Some years after he met a Sardarji in the US and pitched him a successful business plan, he introduced him to Cameron. The actor invited him and the filmmaker out to dinner so they could talk about his film project. The title of the film is Avatar, which he has chosen. The actor declined to star in the film after hearing from Cameron that the protagonist had a disability. The filmmaker gave Govinda Rs 18 crore and told him he had 410 days to film it. The actor responded by saying that if he wants to paint the body, he will see him in the hospital.
Govinda asserted that the human body serves as their exclusive tool. They have to examine how something affects their body in addition to how it looks in a professional setting. Even with close friends and family, people can have enormous egos, so it's not uncommon to have to explain why they turned down a film offer years later.
Regarding his career, Govinda will be making his big-screen comeback after a six-year hiatus. The actor revealed on The Great Indian Kapil Show with Kapil Sharma that he is releasing three films this year.
