Premiering on May 9, 2025, the trailer for Prime Video's forthcoming Hindi original drama series Gram Chikitsalay has been unveiled. The show is directed by Rahul Pandey and written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Shrivastava. Deepak Kumar Mishra is the showrunner, while The Viral Fever (TVF) is the production company.
Gram Chikitsalay chronicles the adventures of Dr Prabhat, a city doctor who takes it upon himself to restore a primary health clinic in the outlying village of Bhathkandi that had all but gone out of business. Leading the cast are Amol Parashar and Vinay Pathak, with supporting parts going to Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Akash Makhija, Garima Vikrant Singh, and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor.
The charming and often turbulent life of Dr Prabhat (Amol Parashar [watch TVF Tripling]) in Bhathkandi is introduced in the trailer. He encounters sceptical villagers, lost medical supplies, and local political intrigue, all of which are shown in the series. At its core, the story is about his struggles to gain the respect and trust of the locals and demonstrate his value.
One of the few experiences that lingers long after the camera stops rolling was portraying Dr Prabhat, according to Parashar, who revealed his thoughts on the role. Gram Chikitsalay delves into the complex topic of a doctor's unwavering commitment to serving his community, despite the long-standing opposition he encounters. The storyline, which the actor thinks will strike a chord with viewers, expertly combines comedic parts with more serious themes. Parashar can't wait for audiences to see Dr Prabhat's story—his ups and downs, his search for that elusive first patient.
Pathak (watch 420 IPC), who plays Daak Sahab, shared that Gram Chikitsalay stands out due to its simplicity and relatability. While bringing attention to a serious issue—the lack of affordable healthcare—the show also manages to portray the quirky and endearing aspects of village life. The natural camaraderie that existed throughout the production and, in his opinion, translated brilliantly to the series was a result of working with such a gifted ensemble cast. The actor went on to say that it would not have been possible without the extraordinary vision of Pandey and the enthusiasm and hard work of the whole crew. He's incredibly excited to be part of this project and the premiere of the series on Prime Video is just around the corner. Pathak can't wait for viewers to see all the funny, tough, and touching moments that will make this series unforgettable.
For Pandey, Gram Chikitsalay is more than a show about a city doctor attempting to make a difference in a village—it's a story about community, optimism, and the small moments that alter lives. He added that the entire team and cast have put in their utmost effort to make every scene feel authentic and approachable. The filmmaker thinks the end product is something unique—a series that will elicit strong emotions from its audience and perhaps even cause them to reevaluate their communities.
