Green India Challenge: Vijay, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi... leading Tamil actors who joined the initiative

The Green India Challenge is an initiative that was launched a few years ago to promote environmental conservation in India. Many celebs from across the country participated in the social cause which inspired their fans, too, to do their bit for nature. Kollywood witnessed a host of stars taking up the challenge and sharing photos on social media. 

Some of them hit the headlines for their uniqueness while a few others created a storm on the internet with their nominations and videos. Sivakarthikeyan is the latest to have joined the bandwagon. He planted a sapling today in Hyderabad when he was in the city for the promotion of his upcoming film Maaveeran. Check out a few leading Tamil actors who actively participated in the challenge.

Vijay

It is known that Vijay, one of the biggest stars in the Tamil film industry, has been involved in several social causes. He was nominated by Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu in 2020. The Leo star planted a sapling and posted pics that went viral in no time. Fans of Vijay and Mahesh celebrated the actors' bonding and appreciated their initiative.

Suriya 

The actor often indulges in social causes and him being part of the initiative was not a surprise. A few pics of him participating in the challenge turned out to be an inspiration for many of his fans. He also encouraged his ardent followers to join the initiative.

Vijay Sethupathi 

The versatile actor surprised his fans when he was seen watering a sapling he planted in a video. He thanked director Buchi Babu Sana for nominating him and requested everyone to participate in the challenge.

Shruti Haasan

The multi-talented actress accepted the nomination from Mahesh Babu and Devi Sri Prasad, and did her bit in her home in Hyderabad. She nominated Rana Daggubati and urged her fans to plant more trees.

Vishal and Arya

The actors participated in the cause together ahead of the release of their film Enemy in 2021. Mirnalini Ravi, who played one of the important roles in the movie, too, accompanied them. They dedicated the sapling to late Kannada star Puneet Rajkumar and won the hearts of his fans.
