As it's known to all now, Barbie has created history this year in lots of aspects. First of all, it becomes the first movie to collect a billion-dollar in 2023, second, it's directed by a woman, which collected such a big amount. No wonder, she's desperate for work.

The movie is about Mattel's Barbie doll and its life. It shows Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colourful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.

Greta Gerwig's interview with Vanity Fair

Recently in Vanity Fair's cover story, Greta Gerwig gave an interesting interview. After such a huge success, Greta does not want to sit at home. “It’s more that it’s really scary to feel idle.” she shared, “At some point, the terror of never making anything becomes much bigger than the terror of making something bad.”

Greta's biggest challenge working on Barbie

But it was not easy for Greta too. It was quite challenging for her to work on the story of a 64-year-old doll. “Honestly, there was nothing but fear around all of it from the outset.” Gerwig said, “You’re dealing with a topic that is already so filled with opinions. But the trick is to say, well, instead of trying to tiptoe around it, what if we just stepped in it? And the whole undertaking was definitely like, ‘Drive it like you stole it. Go, go, go. Don’t tell them, don’t tell them where we’re going.”

Gerwig's next rumoured project

Barbie has now collected over $1.4 billion, worldwide, making it the highest grossing project of Warner Bros. as well. Sources revealed that Greta Gerwig is now working on a feature film of The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix.
