Fans of Tom Hanks’ movie, Greyhound, here’s some exciting news. The 2020 movie is getting a sequel. Directed by Aaron Schneider, Greyhound received a warm audience response on its release. The film revolves around an inexperienced US Navy commander entrusted with leading an Allied convoy chased by a German submarine wolf pack. The Battle of the Atlantic, one of the most important and sometimes neglected battles of World War II, is depicted in this movie. Greyhound helps to acknowledge the problems of a war from the captain's eye.
According to Empire Online, the actor and the partner of his production company, Playtone, have signed a new deal with Apple TV+ for the sequel to the Greyhound movie. The duo have signed a multi-year contract with the platform to create, develop, and distribute a wide range of series, documentaries, and unscripted ventures and the Greyhound sequel is one of them. There's no word on what kind of story the Greyhound sequel will convey yet, but more WWII stories from Tom Hanks can't be a bad thing.
Given that Greyhound was based on CS Forrester's 1955 novel The Good Shepherd – not to be mistaken with 2006's film of the same name, which portrayed the formation of the CIA - there's plenty of room for further Krause adventures in the future.
Meanwhile, Tom Hanks reunites with Steven Spielberg for a World Battle II drama, Masters Of The Air. It features an ensemble of young actors, including Elvis Presley's Austin Butler. The drama portrays the intensely personal story of American bomber lads who brought the war to Hitler's doorstep during WWII.
