Emraan Hashmi is all geared up for Ground Zero's release this Friday i.e. on April 25, 2025, and the actor already has another project lined up. Right before his movie releases in theatres, Emraan has wrapped up another film. This one is Manoj Bajpayee's Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai sequel, which stars Yami Gautam as the female lead. The upcoming movie is based on the Shah Bano case. Here's everything we know about it so far...
After the success of Manoj Bajpayee's Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Suparn S Varma was working with Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam for the second installment. This one is based on 1985's Shah Bano vs Ahmed Khan case. Of course, Yami plays Shah Bano while Azhar actor Emraan steps into the character of Ahmed Khan.
It is the 40th anniversary of the Shah Bano case today, when the makers confirmed the project's wrap to Hindustan Times. The yet-to-be-titled film is shot in parts of Lucknow, and much like Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, it promises hard-hitting dialogues along with intense performances.
Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is available for streaming on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium. The makers have not yet confirmed if Emraan and Yami's next will also go the same route, but the makers aim to release the film around October-November this year itself.
Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai was inspired by the case of Asaram. He had assaulted a minor. Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai saw Manoj Bajpayee take on the role of advocate P.C. Solanki, who fought the case for five years before justice prevailed.
Emraan Hashmi really is making a comeback to Bollywood, and he is leaving no stone unturned to prove that. While Ground Zero and the Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai sequel are almost completed, the actor will also be reprising his role from Awarapan for the sequel to the movie, Awarapan 2. He had officially announced the film recently, which hit the sweet nostalgic spot for many. Looks like the actor is ready to re-enter Bollywood with a bang!
