Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero shows no path-breaking Box Office record on day 1. The movie has opened to Rs. 1 crore so far, but a lot depends on the content of the film to further understand if Ground Zero actually has potential to work at the Box Office. In times of even Salman Khan's Sikandar and Gadar 2-famed Sunny Deol's Jaat not performing at the Box Office, the advance booking numbers of Ground Zero rarely come as a surprise. Here's looking at the early Box Office trends in depth...
Although Azhar actor Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero has earned Rs. 1 crore only in advance booking according to a report on Pinkvilla, it is also to be strongly noted that the advance bookings of the movie opened very late and did not enjoy the benefits Jaat or even Sikandar got. According to those numbers, Ground Zero has a fair chance of growing at the Box Office provided the content is good enough for theatre-going audiences. The film has managed to sell 4,000 tickets on opening day in multiplexes alone, which proves that there is still some hope for this release.
Ground Zero has released at an unfortunate time - when India is mourning after the Pahalgham attacks. Thus, it might take time for the theatre-goers to be ready for movie time. This could vastly impact the Box Office collections of the film.
It is also to be noted that the IPL season is not yet over and is, in fact, reaching its end. This could also end up impacting the footfalls for Ground Zero, at least in the initial days.
It is too early to predict whether Ground Zero can connect with the viewers or not. Kesari 2, featuring Akshay Kumar, Hisaab Barabar actor R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, had earned close to Rs. 30 crore over its first weekend, which should be within Ground Zero's reach. However, the release situation is different, and thus, it is too early to predict whether Ground Zero can cross at least Rs. 30 crore in its first weekend. However, it is not out of reach.
