Ground Zero poster: Emraan Hashmi turns BSF Deputy Commandant in Kashmir-based gritty action film

Excel Entertainment's forthcoming action film Ground Zero will feature Emraan Hashmi in a formidable new role. There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the unveiling of the film's first-look poster, which features a strong and edgy image. From behind, the photo shows Emraan clutching a rifle against the tragically beautiful yet war-torn backdrop of Kashmir. The poster for the film, which has the slogan "Kar meher ka badla lunga naaji" (I will avenge Kashmir, Naaji), and the billowing smoke plumes from the valley set the stage for an intense story of sacrifice, patriotism, and genuine passion.

Emraan Hashmi's role in Ground Zero

Ground Zero features Emraan Hashmi as Narendra Nath Dubey, the Deputy Commandant of the BSF. The movie is based on real events and follows the story of a secret fight that no one knew about. Uncovering the invisible challenges and sacrifices made by the country's defence forces, the story follows Dubey's two-year investigation into a high-stakes national security danger.

Hashmi, who usually plays characters in romantic comedies and crime thrillers, is making a big change with this role. Ground Zero sees him take on a more dramatic and emotionally charged role, one that celebrates the tenacity and bravery of the military. 

Production team and creative minds behind the film

Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are the producers of Ground Zero through their Excel Entertainment company. Sanchit Gupta, Priyadarshi Srivastava, and Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar wrote the script, while Kamaljeet Negi contributed dialogue. 

The film features a large production crew, including Talisman Films' co-producers Nishikant Roy and Abhishek Kumar as well as Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C. Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, and Kassim Jagmagia.
