On Saturday, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's box office performance only slightly improved, falling short of expectations for a tentpole Marvel superhero movie. According to reports, the movie made Rs 8.50 Cr India net on its second day for all languages after a respectable Rs 7.3 Cr opening on Friday.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) sequels were both directed by James Gunn. Early projections indicated that the English version of the movie had the highest occupancy (34.24%), followed by the Tamil version (24.04%), and the Hindi version (15.03%).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brought in around $48.2 million on its first day at the North American box office, which includes the $17.5 million from Thursday previews, according to Variety. The movie is anticipated to gross between $110 million and $120 million in the US over the course of the weekend, which would rank it as the second-highest opening of the year, after only The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($146 million).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to earn less over the weekend than its predecessor, which brought in $146.5 million in 2017, according to Variety. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn are among the ensemble cast members of the movie.

The Kerala Story, which debuted to an impressive Rs 8.03 Cr India net and then had a significant increase in sales on Saturday to reach Rs 12.50 Cr India net, is the film's main rival in India.
