Gullak 4’s ‘Bittu Ki Mummy’ Sunita Rajwar might be an entertaining character in the universe today but there was a time when the actress decided to put a halt to her acting career. Yes, Sunita Rajwar had quit acting, back in 2013. She took a two-year gap, and had a valid reason for that. Years after her comeback, Gullak happened to her. Eventually, Sunita Rajwar also bagged a role in Panchayat, and is now a prominent face in both the popular series on OTT.

Why did Sunita Rajwar quit acting?

The actress was not liking the roles offered to her. She told Indian Express in an interview that she had to step back because she was getting offers to play a maid. “Dhang ka kaam hi nahi mil raha tha,” the actress was quoted saying.

Break, not quitting acting

Sunita shared that she rejected many maid roles offered to her, and it is what forced her to take a break. She did not like being stereotyped into the role of a maid and wanted to prove herself as an actor. Thus, she took a break in 2013 and came back in 2015. On her comeback, she played the role of Daksha in Santoshi Maa, and then got mummy roles with Agniphera in 2018. Thanks to her character, she bagged Gullak and the role of the gossip chachi, Bittu ki Mummy. The actress joined the project in 2019 and has been associated with it since.

Part of Panchayat world as well

Not just Gullak 4, Sunita Rajwar plays an important role in the world of Panchayat too. The actress is seen in the role of Kranti Devi. She wants to be the Pradhan, which is the title currently held by Neena Gupta’s Manju Devi (and shared with her husband, Brij Bhushan, played by Raghubir Yadav). Sunita Rajwar’s Kranti Devi has a funny story even in Panchayat, which takes a dark twist, courtesy her on-screen husband, Banrakas (Durgesh Kumar).

On the movie front, Sunita Rajwar has appeared in Sushant Singh Rajput-Sara Ali Khan’s Kedarnath, Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree, and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala and Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan. The latter is where Sunita met Panchayat lead Jitendra Kumar and they collaborated on the show.
