In an exclusive interaction, the prolific actor was asked if OTT platforms are taking away the charm of cinema halls, the actor quicky responded, "I completely disagree."
He then talked about what he believes about the comparison. He said, "You feel that way because people were locked inside for 2 and a half years and OTT was the only medium and theatres were shut, so for the thatres to come back into this full glory, it is taking time but it is definitely showing some positive signs here and there."
He added, "I would like to believe that it will come back in full glory but at the same time you must also not forget that OTT is going to be equally strong because people have another medium that they have tasted for very long and now they know the strength of it. so if both the mediums are competing with each other, that’s a very good sign for a glorious industry."
Meanwhile, Gulmohar, directed by Rahul Chittella, and also starring Sharmila Tagore, Amol Palekar, Simran, Suraj Sharma, Kaveri Seth and Utsavi Jha, is currently streaming only on Disney+ Hotstar.
