Gulmohar Twitter review: Netizens have nothing but love for Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘beautiful’ film

After more than a decade, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore graced the silver screen yet again, with Gulmohar. The film saw Sharmila make her digital debut, and share the screen with Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma, and Simran. The highly anticipated family drama premiered on March 3, and it definitely seemed to have struck a chord with viewers, who took to Twitter to praise the film.

The film received wide praise among audiences for its relatable storytelling, wonderful direction and amazing performances. “#Gulmohar is a heart warming tale of love, compassion and emotional turbulence through the lens of an urban joint family”, wrote one user. “#GulmoharOnHotstar is such heartfelt well written,directed, enacted movie”, wrote another. One user also called it a ‘blockbuster’ film.

While a number of users called it a ‘beautiful’ film, one went even so far as to call it the best movie of 2023 so far.

Many viewers found the family drama to be incredibly relatable. One user wrote about how the emotions, feelings and characters felt incredibly real.

Rahul Chitella, who made his directorial debut with the film, was lauded for his work. “@rahulchittella what a stunning debut! You made such a sensitive film when sensationalism happens to be the flavour of the season”, wrote one user. Users also could not stop gushing over the performances of the lead cast in the film as well.

Manoj and Sharmila in particular were appreciated for their stunning performances. A particular scene in the film where Sharmila opens her arms to hug Manoj, who plays her son, struck a chord with a number of viewers, and received special mention from them.

Gulmohar, written by Rahul and Arpita Mukherjee, is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The film was produced by Star Studios, Vikesh Bhutani, Shujaat Saudagar and Rahul.
