Gulmohar: Watch Manoj Bajpayee, Sharmila Tagore put a smile on your face with their lovely banter; trailer out on THIS date

Manoj Bajpayee is all set to embrace his role as a different kind of ‘family man’ in his upcoming film, Gulmohar. The film will see him share the screen with veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, who will grace the screen after more than a decade with Gulmohar, a direct to OTT release. Ahead of the film’s release on Disney+ Hotstar, Manoj and Sharmila, who play son and mother in the film, shared a heartfelt few moments of banter between them, to delight fans.

In the promo video, Manoj is seen asking how she feels on her return to the screen after almost 12 years, to which Sharmila responds that she is indeed feeling a bit nervous. In an attempt to hype her up in the sweetest way, Manoj reminds her of her evergreen, ever growing fanbase, and declares that she is Anupama, a legend, and so on.

Not one to be outdone, Sharmila quips that she does not know about whether she’s a legend or not, but since she is playing Manoj’s mother in the film, she has to know a bit of acting, at which Manoj cannot hold back his laughter.

The trailer of Gulmohar will be released on February 11.

In addition to Sharmila and Manoj, the upcoming film also features Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma, and Simran in prominent roles. The film, directed by Rahul Chitell, marks Sharmila’s digital debut.

Talking about the film, Sharmila had said that it was a household story that everyone would find relatable. “It is a balance between tradition and modernity and how families can bridge that gap with love and warmth”, she had said.

The upcoming film is produced by Star Studios, Vikesh Bhutani, Shujaat Saudagar and Rahul. Arpita Mukherjee and Rahul have penned the film’s script.

Gulmohar will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 3, 2023.
