Celebrated ghazal singer and actor Talat Aziz, who recently appeared in the film Gulmohar, which stars Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee, and Suraj Sharma, opened up about what drives him to do more than just be a ghazal singer.

In the recent past, Talat has acted in films like Fitoor, Scam 1992, and the anthology Modern Love: Mumbai.

Talat told OTTplay, "I am doing everything -- acting in films, giving concerts, and giving live performances. As an artist, I have a lot to do, and that is what drives me. The day an artist starts to feel that he or she has done it all and knows it all is the day the decline begins. I act, and I am told that somewhere it is an extension of my personality."

He continued, "I enjoy performing arts, which is why I have been accepting acting projects, working with actors like Tabu and Katrina Kaif and filmmakers like Hansal Mehta. I will be acting more in the near future while also concentrating on my music. So, my fans shouldn't think that I am focusing only on acting and putting music on the back burner. That is not the case at all. I am putting effort into creating more music. My fans will see me as Talat Aziz the actor, singer, performer, and, most importantly, as a human being."

Gulmohar is the story of Delhi's Batra family and revolves around an emotional journey in their ancestral house and the dysfunctional elements of the seemingly perfect family.

The film is directed by Rahul V Chittella and also stars Simran, Amol Palekar, Kaveri Seth, Nargis Nandal, Tripti Sahu, Utsavi Jha, Gandharv Dewan, and Varun Narayan.

Gulmohar is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
