The Elephant Whisperers' producer Guneet Monga claimed on Thursday that receiving the coveted honour did not put any more pressure on her to backing films. She said, "I don't make content for an award."

The producer was questioned about if receiving an Oscar had increased pressure during the trailer lunch for her upcoming production, Kathal, which took place in Mumbai. She gave a reply by saying, “No, we are ready for these pressures. To be honest, all we can do is wake up every morning and be honest with the story that we are telling. All the awards and rewards are not under our control. Every film has its own journey. You never make content for an award. You just make a piece of cinema because you love the story.”

Guneet Monga continued by highlighting the significance of her falling in love with the narrative she is backing through her work. She said, “With the number of years it takes (to make a film), you have to fall in love with it every day. It is a labour of love of three-four years.”

Additionally, Monga stated that she never takes the audience's time for granted when producing a film. She said, “The idea is that whenever a piece of cinema comes you should be able to go out there and enjoy it. We don’t take your time for granted. We make sure that the content is worth the time that the audience gives us. Other than that, we don’t take much pressure because we know that we have told our story with all honesty, we did everything we could and now it is with the audience.”

Meanwhile, starring in Yashowardhan Mishra's debut film, Kathal, are Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Raaz, Anant Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, and Neha Saraf. Netflix will start streaming the movie on May 19.
