Gurudev Hoysala actor Avinash B.S: You'll find Nana Patekar's subtlety in my performance

Businessman and fitness enthusiast Avinash B.S. shot to national prominence with his portrayal of the suave and hot-headed villain in the two K.G.F films. His character of Andrews is now permanently etched in cinema fandom and it would seem that Avinash is raring to explore more opportunities as an actor. His next gig comes in the form of Gurudev Hoysala, a bustling action drama starring Daali Dhananjaya in which he plays the role of the brooding baddie Daada.

According to reports, Avinash B.S. Daada hails from North Karnataka and for whom, the pride and the respect of his family hold a lot of significance.

Does this character boast the same shades as Andrews'? Or will he be seen in a whole new avatar in Gurudev Hoysala?

"Hombale Films and KRG Studios are like family to me so when Karthik Gowda sir asked me to speak to director Vijay N about a character in Gurudev Hoysala, I could not turn them down. In fact, I had decided that I would be part of the film even before I spoke to the director. But when I met Vijay sir soon after, I felt the role offered me a double bonanza - one is the opportunity to work with Hombale and KRG again and the second is the character itself. Daada is a very important character in Gurudev Hoysala and when the director told me that he modelled this character on Nana Patekar, I was very happy. The fact that I was asked to play a character that has the shades of the great Nana Patekar sir felt like an achievement. It was also a big challenge," said Avinash BS in a recent interview with a media outlet.

Will he be seen attempting Nana Patekar's mannerisms in the film? "I can say with certainty that I haven't tried to copy him. But you will find the subtlety and the daringness in Daada that you associate with Nana Patekar sir," he adds.

Gurudev Hoysala also stars Amrutha Iyengar, Naveen Shankar, Achyuth Kumar, Prathap Narayan and others. The film releases in cinema halls on March 30th.
