Gymkhana, the Telugu-dubbed version of director Khalid Rahman’s latest hit Alappuzha Gymkhana is getting a second streaming home. The film, which dropped on OTT in its original Malayalam version, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, on June 13, 2025, will target a wider audience with the Telugu version. This is in keeping with leading man Naslen’s post-Premalu popularity among Telugu audiences. Gymkhana will head to Aha Telugu on June 20, 2025.

Alappuzha Gymkhana, which was one of 3 Malayalam films that released for Vishnu on April 10, 2025, was the bigger hit, with Basil Joseph’s Maranamass following in second place. Mammootty’s Bazooka was a washout. Two weeks after the Malayalam original’s theatrical release, the Telugu version was released in the AP/Telangana belt for the benefit of Naslen fans.
The same logic has been applied to the OTT release. A week after the main platform SonyLIV released the film, it will be on Aha for maximum reach. The film can be streamed in any language version with an OTTplay Premium subscription as well.
Anuraga Karikkin Vellam fame director Khalid Rahman’s film, meanwhile, is a sports comedy, which also stars Lukman Avaran (Saudi Vellakka), Ganapathi S Poduval (Manjummel Boys), Anagha Ravi, Franco Francis, Baby Jean, Shiva Hariharan, Shine Tom Chacko, among others. Written by Khalid, and Sreeni Saseendran, Gymkhana’s story follows a bunch of boys who after failing their class 12 exams, hope to make do with grace marks obtained in the sports quota and get into college.

Meanwhile, the makers had teased the possibility of a sequel in the success teaser of the film, but this was not welcomed by netizens, many of who opined that Alappuzha Gymkhana was Khalid’s weakest film to date. Naslen, meanwhile, will soon be seen in Asif Ali’s Tiki Taka, Thudarum maker Thrarun Moorthy’s next, Torpedo, Dulquer Salmaan production, Lokah among others.
