Haal: Shane Nigam-starrer joins Christmas 2025 race with Sarvam Maya?

The Malayalam film, Haal, which ran into controversies and faced objections from Censor Board, is now all set to hit theatres after the Kerala High Court rejected the pleas against the movie. Actor Shane Nigam leads the film, which has now confirmed a December release. The film is likely to hit theatres for Christmas 2025, setting up a clash with Nivin Pauly’s film Sarvam Maya.

Shane Nigam’s Haal movie set for release

Malayalam actor Shane Nigam, who was last seen in Balti, will next appear in Haal, which has now been cleared for release. The RDX actor took to Instagram to confirm that the upcoming film is a December release, but an exact date was not given. Online reports, however, have said that Haal will be a Christmas release.

Sakshi Vaidya plays the female lead in the film, which was first set to release in September but faced objections from the Censor Board over various scenes, including a beef sequence. Cuts were imposed on the film, which was given an A-certificate. The matter was then taken up in the Kerala High Court, which has now dismissed the pleas against the film, paving the way for its release.

As of now, Sarvam Maya is the major Malayalam film scheduled for December 25, 2025. Nivin Pauly leads the upcoming horror comedy, with Aju Varghese in tow. There is positive buzz around the film, helmed by Akhil Sathyan.

Malayalam actor Dileep’s film Bha Bha Ba is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2025. The film also features Mohanlal in an extended cameo.
