Habibi full video out; Sanju Weds Geetha 2 set for OTT outing?
In January this year, Sanju Weds Geetha 2 had released, but was pulled from theatres within days, with the makers planning a re-release with additional footage, which did not happen

Kannada filmmaker Nagshekhar’s spiritual sequel to his earlier Sanju Weds Geetha , Sanju Weds Geeth a 2, which had Bahuparaak fame Srinagara Kitty paired with Matinee actress Rachita Ram, released in theatres in January this year. The film ran into legal issues days before its release, forcing a slight postponement and eventually came out on January 17, 2025.
Sanju Weds Geetha 2 was widely panned and remained in theatres for 3 days only, following which Nagshekhar announced that he would re-release the film with at least 20-minutes of additional footage. Around this time it was also revealed that Ragini Dwivedi, who was only seen in the special song Habibi in the final edit, was actually meant to be the film’s antagonist and that all of her portions had been chopped out.
Earlier today, the team released the full video of Habibi, prompting speculation that a re-release is now out of the question, given that it’s been more than four months and that the song was one of the highlights of the film. Sanju Weds Geetha 2 is heading to OTT shortly, and the song release is meant to drum up excitement about it.
Sanju Weds Geetha 2 headed to Sun NXT?
The buzz is that Sanju Weds Geetha 2 could be headed to Sun Network, as the platform has begun offering filmmakers pay-per-view options at Rs 4/hour, akin to the Amazon Prime Video rates. Prime Video, though, has been very picky about the Kannada films that it offers this pay-per-view deals to, with several only making it to the store for transactional video on demand or rental. There's also the fact that Sanju Weds Geetha is on Sun NXT.
Meanwhile, Sanju Weds Geetha 2 had Srinagara Kitty as Sanju, a lowly silk farmer, who falls in love with Geetha (Rachita Ram) who hails from a rich family. Their relationship, of course, does not sit well with her father, following which Sanju makes it his life mission to ensure Geetha is never left wanting for anything. He soon becomes one of the biggest silk exporters in the country, but will his new status in society melt his father-in-law’s heart?
