Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known for being a chameleon on screen, essaying a wide range of roles and characters. The seasoned actor is gearing up to take the silver screen by storm in one of his most unrecognisable avatars yet, essaying the role of a trans woman in the upcoming Zee Studios film, Haddi. The makers had left audiences surprised when the first look poster for the film was unveiled, which saw Nawazuddin channel his inner femme fatale. And it seems that it took quite a lot of time and effort for Nawazuddin to really get into the skin of his character.
A new timelapse video shared by the makers shows the whole process involved in the transformation. The actor is shown sitting patiently as a team of experts put prosthetics, accessories and make up on him. The whole process takes more than three hours, and the actor is left unrecognisable after.
The video was captioned “A transformation worth watching! Took @Nawazuddin._siddiqui 3+ hours to get into the skin of his character in #Haddi”

Nawazuddin revealed that it was the first time in his career that he had to spend over three hours to physically transform for a role. However, the look had helped empower him to do justice to the role and take the character to the next level. “As an artist, I’m always hungry for roles that push my boundaries as a performer. A big portion of that portrayal is the actual look. Haddi has truly challenged me in unimaginable ways and I can’t wait to see how audiences react to it”, he said.
The upcoming film is written and directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, and bankrolled under the banner of Zee Studios and Anandita Studios.
Haddi will hit the silver screens in 2023. A release date is yet to be announced.
