Yash's Toxic was recently postponed, and it will now release on June 4. With the postponement, Toxic avoided the box office clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. While Toxic is now scheduled for a June 4 release, it again is going to face a box office clash with Varun Dhawan's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. While Dhawan's film was scheduled for a June 5 release, the makers announced that it has now been postponed.
On March 10, the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai announced that Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur's rom-com will now be released on June 12, 2026.
The makers wrote, "We would like to clarify that our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after recent developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.
We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date.
In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to 12th June and bring our film to the audiences a week later."
For those unfamiliar, Hai Jawani Toh Pyaar Hona Hai is a chart-topping song from David Dhawan’s hit film Biwi No 1, featuring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen. The title of the upcoming drama seems to draw inspiration from this beloved track.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is the latest romantic-comedy from director David Dhawan, starring Varun Dhawan alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. Set to release in theatres on June 12, 2026, the film promises a delightful mix of romance and humour, offering a quintessential Bollywood story with a contemporary twist.
A source close to the development said, “It’s a quirky title in sync with the world that David Dhawan is looking to create with Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Sreelela. It’s a fun family entertainer with the love triangle of the trio at the center. David Dhawan has cracked a concept that’s fresh and original, and is confident to recreate the magic of comedies on the big screen again.”
