Haiwaan: Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan's pic with Saiyami Kher goes viral; Trio wraps outdoor schedule of Priyadarshan’s film

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, who were last seen together in Tashan, have reunited after 17 years with a Priyadarshan film, Haiwaan. The film is an edge-of-the-seat thriller and went on floors on August 23. The first phase of shooting has now been completed in the picturesque locations of Kochi, Vagamon, and Ooty.

A crew member og Haiwaan confirmed via X that they have wrapped the outdoor schedule of Haiwaan. “That’s a wrap on the outdoor schedule of #Haiwaan! An incredible journey through stunning locations now back in Mumbai for the next schedule," the post read.

On August 23, Akshay Kumar posted a clip where he can be seen holding a clapperboard where the name of the film, Haiwaan, is written. The video shows Akshay having a fun chat with Saif Ali Khan as he begins shooting for the film with filmmaker Priyadarshan.

Sharing the video, Akshay captioned it, "Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan…
Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan. Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!"

Priyadarshan’s Hindi remake of Oppam, titled Haiwaan, stars Saif Ali Khan as a blind caretaker and Akshay Kumar as a killer. According to Mid-Day, while Khan plays a visually impaired, skilled caretaker, Akshay will be portrayed as a ruthless, icy killer out to avenge his family. 

As per Hindustan Times, Priyadarshan's film, Haiwaan, is translated as ‘beast’ in English. A source informed the portal, "The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it - as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play."

Meanwhile, Haiwaan is scheduled for a release in 2026.
