Filmmaker Hansal Mehta recently took to Twitter and expressed disappointment on his critically-acclaimed drama Shahid not being available to view on any OTT platform.
In his tweet, Mehta noted that despite the accolades the film has garner, it cannot be accessed online at all. "t is a personal tragedy for me and for all those who toiled to make this film against all odds. It is a tragedy for Shahid Azmi," he wrote.

Shahid had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012 and was screened across different festivals thereafter. At the 61st National Awards, Mehta went on to win Best Director, while Rao was announced as Best Actor.
Besides Rao, Shahid also stars Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kay Kay Menon, Prabhleen Sandhu and Baljinder Kaur. Sameer Gautam Singh Apurva Asrani, who also served as editor, co-wrote the script.
Meanwhile, Mehta has a lot of new projects in the pipeline including a Netflix series Scoop based on Jigna Vora's book titled Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison..
