Even as film buffs around the world celebrate the legend that is Kamal Haasan, who turns 68 today (November 7), the Ulaganayagan chose to spend some quality time with his extended family. In a series of pictures shared by his niece, actress Suhasini Maniratnam, Kamal Haasan is seen having a hearty chat with his family members. The entire family is in a state of joy as they ring in the big day. Suhasini captioned the pictures as 'Celebrating Kamal'. The series of pictures also have some warm moments of the actor hugging his family, indulging in some heart-warming moments et al. Kamal Haasan's nephew director Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan's elder brother actor Charu Haasan, and Kamal Haasan's niece Anu Hasan are all seen in the pictures.

The legendary actor's birthday celebrations began much earlier as he also spent some time with his friends from the industry and outside. In a bunch of pictures doing the rounds on the internet, Ulaganayagan is dressed casually and surrounded by balloons and is seen having a good time. The actor also celebrated his birthday on the set of the sixth edition of the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil. As the contestants of the show sang a series of songs from his films and recited a poem on his achievements, Bigg Boss sent across a cake to the actor. Kamal Haasan, in turn, sent the cake to the housemates and promised that he will send some biriyani as well to the contestants.

Wishes have been coming from all quarters for namma Ulaganayagan since yesterday. Kamal Haasan also threw a surprise to the audience that he will be collaborating with his Nayakan director Mani Ratnam after a span of 35 years. The news has come as a huge surprise to the fans of the actor. Director Shankar, too, dropped a new picture of the actor from Indian 2, in which he is seen as the legendary character, the vigilante Senapathy.
