Happy birthday Sonalika Joshi: Before playing Madhavi in TMKOC, the actress was seen in Zuluk

Remember Madhavi bhabhi from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah? Sonalika Joshi, who plays the character on the small screen, turned 45 today.

The actress plays the role of Atmaram Tukaram Bhide’s wife in the much-popular show. While ‘Bhide master’ is a short-tempered person who always keeps scolding Jethalal (Dilip Joshi)’s son Tapu (Raj Anadkat), Madhavi is responsible for keeping him calm and at times, shutting him up.

Fans of the show love Bhide and Madhavi’s chemistry on the show. While the actress plays a soft yet strict housewife in the show who is happy with her life, Sonalika had once played the role of a daughter.

That’s right, Sonalika was a part of the Marathi movie Zuluk which released in 2005. She played an important role in the film which also starred Girish Oak and Aishwarya Narkar.

Girish played the lead role of Dr. Utkarsh in the movie. He was married to musician wife Aru and they had a daughter named Teju together. Sonalika played the role of Teju.

The movie revolves around how Girish and Aru’s life could possibly fall apart after a certain Chaitanya (Shreyas Talpade) enters their home. Co-incidentally, Chaitanya is Utkarsh’s childhood friend’s brother. The movie, which is dedicated to late Laxmikant Berde, is now available for streaming on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Taarak Mehta fans would be pleased to know that Mandar Chandwadkar and Sonalika had already worked on a Marathi TV show before their Hindi TV stint. They were seen as a couple in the TV series titled Parivartan.
