Shah Rukh Khan has just turned 57 today, and what better way to usher in the Bollywood superstar's birthday than to release the teaser of his much-anticipated film Pathaan. Timed at one minute and 24 seconds, the official teaser, which has been released by the production house Yash Raj Films or YRF in short, is intense and our birthday boy is brooding.
Pathaan teaser video begins with someone interrogating about Pathaan. What do you know about him," asks the man. To this, another person replies, "There is no news about him for three years. He was captured in his last mission. Heard that he got tortured a lot. Not sure if Pathaan is dead....." Shah Rukh appears in the montage piercing the former's dialogue and says, "... is alive."
Moving on the birthday boy can be seen combating multiple people at once and also shooting with some heavy guns. Post that, Deepika appears in the video in her sexy avatar wearing a long black slit gown and John firing a bulldozer sporting a quirky helmet.
YRF' YouTube account, where the teaser was dropped, had managed to amass over one million views in under an hour's time and after two hours, it has crossed 2.4 million views and is headed towards crossing the three-million mark as well.
Talking about the craze around Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film after a gap of four long years, director Siddharth Anand said in a statement, "The craze for a glimpse of Pathaan has been unprecedented. After a long, long time there’s insane buzz for a film that is genuine and organic. And it’s all due to the super stardom of this one man - Shah Rukh Khan. His fans, and we are talking of millions of them, have been clamouring for just a peek of him and his film. And thus, there could be no better day to put out the teaser of Pathaan than SRK’s birthday!”
The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, along with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, also features Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. Pathaan is all set to hit cinemas on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
