Happy Raj release date: GV Prakash-Sri Gouri Priya entertainer to hit theatres in March

Happy Raj, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor-composer GV Prakash in the lead role, is set for March outing, with the makers announcing the release date.

Happy Raj release date: When can you watch GV Prakash film?

Composer-turned-actor GV Prakash Kumar had announced a new film titled Happy Raj a while back. The makers on Thursday announced the release date of the film. Happy Raj will release on March 27 in theatres first. The announcement poster featured GV Prakash Kumar at the centre, clad in a t-shirt and lungi, whole he is on an escalator sporting a jovial look.

The cast of Happy Raj includes actors GV Prakash, Abbas, Sri Gouri Priya, George Maryan, Geetha Kailasam and others. It is written and directed by Maria Raja Elanchezian in his debut. This time, GV Prakash will not be taking scoring responsibilities with music composed by Justin Prabhakaran. The film is shot by Madhan Chirstopher and edited by Selva RK.

What do we know about Happy Raj?

While the makers are yet to release the trailer, earlier a promo announcing the project was released. It showed. It features GV Prakash and Sri Gouri Priya playing a couple in love, and imagine themselves in wedding attires. But soon they seem to have a lot of differences between wedding choices; from venue to wedding ornament. Soon, both of them are inside the boxing ring. Abbas, who is returning to Tamil cinema after a long time, will be playing Sri Gouri Priya's father, while George Maryan plays GV Prakash's father. Happy Raj is expected to be a family entertainer, appealing to youth audience.

What else is releasing in March?

While theatrically, March appears to be a dry month for Tamil cinema, given only Happy Raj and Ken Karunaas film Youth (slated for March 19), will be out, there are a few OTT releases lined up. They include Priyanka Mohan’s Netflix film Made in Korea, and Vijay Sethupathi’s JioHotstar series Kaattaan.
