Who is Vartika Singh's Saira in Haq?
Vartika Singh plays the role of Saira, who falls in love with Shazia (Yami Gautam)'s husband (played by Emraan Hashmi) and lures him into a second marriage while he is still married to Shazia. Since Sharia law does not see a second wedding from the man's side as an offense, this causes dispute between Shazia and her husband, eventually leading to their divorce by Sharia law. Shazia, unsatisfied with the ways of the Sharia law, moves to court and seeks intervention from secular law. All of this begins with Saira entering the happily married couple's life.

Coming from the world of Manoj Bajpayee's Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai-esque courtroom drama, Haq is loosely inspired by another case that challenged Sharia law and thus the patriarchal system. This, in a sense, caused riots as the law was threatened over one question - does a Muslim woman residing in India look at the Sharia law or secular law?
