When the first promo visuals of the Kannada film Harikathe Alla Girikathe came out, they looked promising, especially since Rishab Shetty led the cast. The official synopsis of the film, directed by Karan Ananth and Anirudh Mahesh, reads, ‘The hurdles that has to be overcome by three people who came together to pursue a common goal of making it big in the movie business.’

Released at the end of June as one of four Kannada movies that week, Harikathe Alla Girikathe was expected to be one of the better films, along with Thurthu Nirgamana. Rishab’s film, however, got mixed reviews and did not set the box office on fire. It was reported back then that the team had sold the satellite and digital rights of the film to Colors Kannada and Voot Select respectively, but no telecast or steaming date was announced.

In the last few days, there have been murmurs that Harikathe Alla Girikathe could soon be available to stream. Voot Select has now announced that the film will start streaming on August 12 as part of its Friday Premiere package. Harikathe Alla Girikathe also stars Rachana Inder, Rakshith Ramachandra Shetty, Honnavali Krishna, among others.

Harikathe Alla Girikathe is about three oddball individuals, who come together under bizarre yet comical circumstances to pursue a common goal of making it big in the movie business. The motley crew, comprising Director Giri, Villain Giri, and Heroine Giri(ja) embark on a madcap journey that entails scamming top politicians and cops, turning kidnappers, and hatching the most outrageous escapades to get their film made. With their trusted allies – 5D Thomas, Super Super, and Mobile Raghu – by their side, will their dream come true? Will the underdog overcome the odds?

Harikathe Alla Girikathe was Rishab’s first release since last year’s Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. Up next, he is gearing up for the release of his next directorial, Kantara, produced by Hombale Films, which has been announced as a Dasara theatrical outing on September 30.
