When Hariprriya got the offer to play the lead in the Kannada remake of the Telugu film Evaru, a role that Regina Cassandra did in the original, she was interested to sink her teeth into the character as it had several challenging sequences. Yet at the same time, she had some apprehensions too, as it involved a sequence of physical abuse and Hariprriya was not sure if she would be comfortable doing it, depending on the co-star she’d have. The actress says that she was worried she would have to let go of the project for this reason.
Considering that she was the first one to be approached for the film, she had an idea that would solve her problem and give her a good role too. She spoke to Vasishta N Simha about one of the lead roles, her romantic interest in the film, which is pivotal to the entire narrative. Unknown to the rest of the world at the time, Hariprriya and Vasishta were already dating and she figured that if he was in the film, she would have no issues with the scenes she was apprehensive about. Hariprriya apparently told Vasishta that she would do the film only if he was also a part of it and thankfully, he agreed, as he understood that she wanted the role, but also needed the comfort to do bold scenes.
Yadha Yadha Hi is slated to release in theatres on June 2. The film revolves around the murder of Vasishta’s character at the hands of Hariprriya in what she claims is self-defence. Diganth plays the investigating officer looking into the crime. Although the film is the remake of Evaru, Hariprriya says that the Kannada version is better, as the team has worked on correcting the loopholes in the narrative of the original.
