January 22, 2024, is monumental. Today, the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha and inauguration takes place. As thousands of our favorite celebs make their way to be a part of history physically, Alia Bhatt’s outfit catches the sharp eyes of netizens. As the actress made her way to the airport at dawn, with her husband Ranbir Kapoor, to catch a private flight to Ayodhya, they were snapped by the paparazzi.
Director Rohit Shetty had arrived at the same time, and the film industry peers posed together for quick snaps before departing . Alia Bhatt had donned a simple turquoise blue saree with a complementary teal toned shawl. As videos and photos of their looks surfaced on social media, a sharp-eyed X user pointed out that the pictural border of her saree was not embellished with common rustic scenes.
There were motifs of Ramayan instead. The user had even pointed out the Ram Setu and Hanuman ji in some slightly blurry but legible snaps of the motifs on her saree. Several fans of hers fell in love with the look, some desiring an exact one like hers, while others declared her fashion sense to be improving by the day, with regular iconic ethnic ensembles.
To accompany this special sartorial tribute to Lord Ram and Ayodhya, Alia Bhatt had opted for a pair of earrings and bangles. Her makeup was natural and classy, with her hair tied back. The symbolism of her tribute to Lord Ram and his eternal tale (Ramayan) is not sudden as the actress had previously essayed the role of Sita in S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR, a reimagining of Ram’s journey in colonial India.
This is not the first time Alia Bhatt has won hearts for her simple yet memorable attire. Recently the actress had worn an Ajrakh print saree, designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, at the Joy Awards, Riyadh, which had made fans yearn for something similar and as magical.
