Nani is leaving no stone unturned to spread the word about his next film, Shyam Singha Roy. The film, where he co-stars Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty and Madonna Sebastian, is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and slated to release in four languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam - on December 24. As per a report on the movie portal 123Telugu.com, the actor has dubbed for himself in the Tamil version of the film. The Tamil trailer of Shyam Singha Roy will be launched shortly in the presence of media at Satyam Cinemas, Chennai.
While the actor has done two direct Tamil movies in the past - Aaha Kalyanam and Veppam - he hadn't dubbed himself in either of the films. With most leading actors across big films dubbing for themselves across in other versions beyond the originals, it's interesting that Nani also has taken a step forward to do it. An actor dubbing for himself in a film goes a long way in ensuring that the spirit and the authenticity of the character is retained. This is certainly a welcome move.
Satyadev Janga has penned the story of the film, in which Rahul Ravindran, Jisshu Sengupta, Leela Samson, Barun Chanda, Manish Wadwa and Abhinav Gomatam play crucial roles. Nani plays a double role in the film - as Vasu, an emerging filmmaker and Shyam Singha Roy, a writer-cum-social reformer. The film alternates between two timelines - the 1970s and a current-day setting. Krithi Shetty is cast in the role of Keerthi, an actress. This is the first production of Venkat Boyanapalli under Niharika Entertainment. Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the same.
