Ever since the time the Nitesh Tiwari directed Ramayana had been announced, it had been making news for many reasons than one. One of the major reasons happens to be the actor who will be playing the role of Lord Hanuman. After much back and forth, it has now been decided that it will be Sunny Deol who will be playing the role of Lord Hanuman in Ramayana.
As per a source-based news piece in Pinkvilla, it has been reported that it is the ‘Gadar’ superstar Sunny Deol who has been confirmed to play the role of Hanuman. The said news stated that Sunny Deol is all charged up for this lifetime opportunity to play Lord Hanuman, and that since Lord Hanuman stands for Strength, it was only apt that Sunny Deol was ultimately finalised to play the role of Lord Hanuman in the film.
The news also stated that the said film will be a trilogy for which Sunny Deol will begin shooting his part in May this year. Since the film is reported to be a trilogy, Sunny Deol’s presence in the first part will be a guest appearance, whereas, he is said to have him in a full-fledged role in the film’s second and third part.
Besides Sunny Deol, the film will star Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram, actress Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash in the role of Ravana and Lara Dutta will be seen in the role of Kaikeyi. And, for the role of Vibhishana, the film’s makers are in conversation with Vijay Sethupathi, as per the news report.
Amidst all this, a few days back, there was a strong buzz about Bobby Deol being approached to play the role of Kumbhkaran in Ramayana. But, as per a news report in ETimes, the actor's team said that these were only speculations and that there was no truth in the same.
