The buzz in the media is that digital streaming giant Netflix that had acquired the rights to streaming the wedding video of Lady Superstar Nayanthara and actor-director Vignesh Shivan, has backed out of the deal after the latter shared a few pictures on his social media handle on the couple's first month anniversary. Certain reports also claimed that the OTT portal had sent a legal notice to the couple for violating the terms of the agreement, which involved Netflix having an exclusive right to share pictures from the wedding. The reports stated that the platform had paid for the entire wedding ceremony, including the food, decorations and security arrangements for the celebrities who presided over the ceremony.
In the meantime, an IANS report states that Netflix hasn't backed out from the deal and had shared a press statement from Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India, which read, "We are the home for unscripted content that is fresh and compelling, and has the power to connect with audiences in India and beyond. Nayanthara has been a true superstar with a career spanning nearly 20 years. With our amazing creative partners, director Gautam Vasudevan and Rowdy Pictures, we cannot wait for our members to finally get to see Nayanthara's journey that led to this fairytale wedding with Vignesh."
