Hate U Romeo: When and where to watch Aravinnd Iyer and Disha Madan’s quirky revenge comedy

Back in 2018, when Century Star Shivarajkumar ventured into Kannada content production with Shri Mutthu Cine Creations, headed by his daughter Niveditha, they had partnered with Sakkath Studio to make a few web series. Two of them, Honeymoon and By Mistake, finally saw the light of day, albeit much delayed, when they came out on Voot Select and a third, Hate U Romeo is up next.

This time, though, the streaming partner is different. The makers have tied up with Talkies to telecast the show, which has a total of seven 30-minute-long episodes. Hate U Romeo, which has Bheemasena Nalamaharaja star Aravinnd Iyer in the lead, along with Disha Madan, will begin streaming on the platform from November 5. The team announced the streaming date along with a trailer of the show, wherein Aravinnd plays a model called Dev, who is also a bit of a womanizer. What happens when he is then stranded on an island and struggles to find his way back home forms the crux of the show, which the makers have dubbed as a quirky revenge comedy. Hate U Romeo was, incidentally, meant to be Disha’s acting debut. She was last seen in Danish Sait’s Humble Politiciann Nograj.

Written and directed by Esham and Haseen Khan, Hate U Romeo has music by Suddha Roy and cinematography by Lavith and Bharath Parashuram. The seven-part series also stars RJ Vicky, Khan Yule, Shantala Kamath, Jhanvi Jyothi, Sanjana Prakash, Imran Pasha, Karthik, Sunder, Veena Sunder, Sowparnika and Tejas Pavan. Hate U Romeo was completely shot in Vietnam. According to the makers, the series was completely shot on Red Epic & Red Gemini two camera setup, making it no less than any movie.

Hate U Romeo was shot back in 2018.
