Hatya: Leading distributors acquire Telugu rights of Vijay Antony’s thriller

On a high after the surprise success of his directorial Bichagadu 2 this summer, Vijay Antony has regained his credibility in the Telugu market again. After the emotional sibling drama, he’ll be next seen in a taut thriller titled Hatya, the Telugu version of Kolai (in Tamil), directed by Balaji Kumar. Ritika Singh and Meenakshi Chaudhary play the female leads in the same.

Murali Sharma, John Vijay, Radhika Sarathkumar, Siddharth Shankar, Arjun Chidambaram, Kishore Kumar, Sankit Bora play other crucial roles in the film. Hatya is produced by Kamal Bora, G Dhanunjayan, Pradeep B, Pankaj Bora, Vikram Kumar, Tan Sri Doraisingam Pillai, Siddharth Shankar, RVS Ashok Kumar under Infinity Film Ventures in association with Lotus Pictures.

The film is gearing up for a theatrical release this July 21. Vijay Antony, to be seen in a middle-aged avatar, is cast as a detective in the film that’s a murder mystery revolving around the death of a model. Now, we hear that two leading distributors - Global Cinemas and Suresh Productions - will release the thriller in Telugu states.

They’d recently joined hands for the Telugu version of Maamannan titled Nayakudu as well. Interestingly, Suresh Productions is also distributing another July 21 release, Ruhani Sharma’s Her Chapter 1.

Sivakumar Vijayan cranks the camera for the film while RK Selva is the editor. Girish Gopalakrishnan is the composer. Bhashyasree, who wrote the dialogues and songs for most Vijay Antony films in Telugu, is associated with Hatya too. The actor, director, producer is not new to thrillers - Kolaigaaran, Salim, Saithan, Yaman and Naan prove his ease with the genre.
