Hayley Atwell, best known for her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has boarded the voice cast of Netflix Netflix and Legendary Pictures' upcoming Tomb Raider anime series.
According to Variety, Atwell be the voice of Lara Croft in the series based on Square Enix's popular action-adventure game trilogy.
The story will take place 25 years after the events of the video game trilogy, bringing the character into a new territory where she sets off on another adventure.
Tasha Huo (Red Sonja and Netflix's upcoming The Witcher: Blood Origin) is attached as executive producer and writer. The makers are yet to unveil the rest of the team and voice cast.
Angelina Jolie first emulated the globetrotting archaeologist/action-hero in two Tomb Raider adaptations. Alicia Vikander also played Lara Croft onscreen in the 2018 Warner Bros-produced film.
Atwell has previously lent her voice to Marvel's animated series like What If...? and Avengers Assemble, as well as Netflix's 3Below: Tales of Arcadia. She also stars in Mission: Impossible 7 alongside Tom Cruise .
