Kannada cinema’s Natarakshasa Daali Dhananjaya’s second home production, Head Bush, is a two-part biopic on the life of late gangster MP Jayaraj, Bengaluru’s first don, based on a book by Agni Sredhar. The first part of the series, which has Dhananjaya as Jayaraj, is slated to hit theatres on October 21. But with less than 10 days to go for the film’s date with audiences, Dhananjaya, who had gone all out to promote his debut production Badava Rascal, is yet to kick off the publicity campaign.

In fact, so far, the team has only revealed two songs, both of which have had lukewarm response. Fans had begun wondering why Dhananjaya had not picked up pace with promotions, given that there was no trailer either. Perhaps, the actor was looking at pushing the release of his film ahead, they reckoned. A week after Head Bush, the late Puneeth Rajkumar’s Gandhada Gudi will be in theatres and considering that Kantara is still running riot at the box office and that the Power Star’s dream project would take up quite a few movie halls, fans felt it would be the best move to postpone Head Bush. Dhananjaya has already had a couple of postponements this year. His milestone 25thfilm, Hoysala was moved from a Karnataka Rajyotsava release this year to March 2023, while Once Upon A Time in Jamaligudda was pushed from September 9, but is yet to find an alternate date.

But just as these speculations began gathering steam, it was announced that the trailer of Head Bush – Part 1 would be released on October 16, at a mega event in Davanagere, which will be attended by Ramya and Rachita Ram, among others.

Directed by Shoonya and with music by Charanraj, Head Bush has a massive ensemble cast on board, including Loose Mada Yogi, Crazy Star Ravichandran, Vasishta N Simha, Payal Rajput, Sruthi Hariharan, Raghu Mukherjee, Balu Nagendra, among others.
