Vijay Deverakonda's Liger may have received bad reviews from film critics but that did not deter people from going to theatres to watch the Telugu star pack some punches and mouth dialogues in Hindi.
Yes, according to a news report by Bollywood Hungama, Liger's Hindi verison is off to a good start at the box office in Hindi-speaking regions of the country. The big Bollywood debut of Arjun Reddy breakout star Vijay Deverakonda has opened to a staggering 4.00 to 4.70 crores INR, with another 1.30 crore INR adding to the count through apid previews as of Thursday, reports the news portal.
Everything combined, Liger has amassed somwhere around 5.50 crores INR in its opening days, thus making it a good start for any actor's debut film.
According to Bollywood Hungama, releasing the film on Thursday as opposed to a conventional Friday release may have contributed to a solid opening, which was around 7 crore INR.
However, everything now depends on the how much money Vijay Deverakonda's Liger makes during the weekend. On Friday, as per the site's predictions, anything in the range of 35 crore INR and above should be a decent figure for Liger in Hindi-speaking regions.
Interestingly, Liger has seen a much better opening in Hindi than Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise in the Hindi-speaking sections of the country. It has got the second-best opening for a Telugu star in the Hindi-speaking belts after Jr. NTR's RRR, reports Bollywood Hungama.
Liger has in fact made 1 crore INR more than Allu Arjun's film, thereby proving Vijay Deverakonda has piqued the audience's interest in Hindi belts more than Allu Arjun could.
