Suraj Venjaramoodu’s investigative thriller Heaven, which hit theatres in June this year, is gearing up for its OTT release. The movie, which is helmed by debutant Unni Govindraj, has the National Award-winning actor essaying the role of a police officer.
Scripted by Unni and PS Subramaniam, who is a cop himself, the movie also has Sudev Nair, Alencier Ley Lopez, Sudhish, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Jaffer Idukki, Vinaya Prasad, Shruti Jayan and an extended cameo by Deepak Parambol.
Heaven revolves around circle inspector Peter Kurishingal who finds that his son is murdered along with other victims in between an investigation. How he decides to put his grief on hold and diverts the attention to track the killers and find their motive, form the plot of the movie, which also has drawn references from several investigations carried out by PS Subramaniam in his career as a circle inspector.
The movie, which had Suraj donning the khaki and boots for the second time this year after Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Jana Gana Mana, is currently set to release on Disney+ Hotstar. The movie will release on the streaming platform on August 19.
Suraj also has several releases coming up, including Huguita, which has him teaming up with Dhyan Sreenivasan, Luka Chuppi director Bash Mohammed’s Love Jihad that has the actor essaying the role of an insurance agent and Sunil Ibrahim’s Roy, which revolves around a couple played by the actor and Sija Rose. Roy, which is again a mystery thriller, had concluded shoot last year and is expected to be Suraj’s second direct-to-OTT release after Kaanekkaane that released on Sony LIV.
Meanwhile, Suraj’s latest OTT release was Pathaam Valavu, which incidentally had him essaying the role of a convict. The movie, which is helmed by Joseph director M Padmakumar and also has Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead, is currently streaming on Manorama Max.
