Hema Malini reveals a director asked her to take off her saree pin and that she was offered Satyam Shivam Sundaram.

Hema Malini, who is known as the 'Dream Girl' of Bollywood, made her debut in 1968 with Sapno Ka Saudagar opposite Raj Kapoor. She went on to star in several successful films such as Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Dream Girl, Baghban and Veer-Zaara. She also worked with many leading actors such as Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Dev Anand and Rajesh Khanna.
The veteran actress and politician has opened up about some of her experiences in the film industry. She has shared that a director once told her to remove her saree pin and that she was approached for the role of Zeenat Aman in Satyam Shivam Sundaram.
Hema Malini recently appeared on a talk show where she spoke about some of the incidents that happened during her career. She said that a director once asked her to take off her saree pin while shooting a song. Hema said, "He wanted to shoot some kind of a scene. I always put a pin on my saree. I said, ‘saree niche gir jayegi’. They said that’s what we want."
She said that she refused to do so and told him that she was not comfortable with it. She said that she was very particular about her dignity and image and that she never compromised on them.
The actress also revealed that she was offered the role of Zeenat Aman in Satyam Shivam Sundaram, which was directed by Raj Kapoor. She said that she liked the script but she was not comfortable with the bold scenes and costumes in the film. She then told Raj Kapoor that she could not do the film and that he understood her decision. Appreciating Zeenat Aman, she said that she did a great job in the film and that it suited her personality.
