Vikas Vasishta, Pradeep Rudra, Jeevan Kumar, Abhignya play other key roles in the July 21 release

Her Chapter 1, directed by first-time filmmaker Sreedhar Swaraghav, is gearing up for a release this Friday on July 21. Ruhani Sharma plays the lead role in the investigative thriller that also stars Vikas Vasishta, Pradeep Rudra, Jeevan Kumar, Abhignya, Sanjay Swaroop, Benerjee, Ravi Varma and Ravi Prakash. Raghu Sankuratri and Deepa Sankuratri bankroll the film under Double Up Media.
The team is actively promoting the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and it has become imperative for small films to go the extra mile with the publicity. The film unfolds through the lens of a female cop who investigates the murder of a girl and discovers deeper mysteries within the case. Suresh Productions is releasing the film in Telugu states.
Meanwhile, the makers have wrapped up the censor formalities for the thriller and the film has been certified U/A. Select dialogues were asked to be muted in the final cut and the stage looks set for its release on July 21. The slick trailer, the impressive promos and the intriguing lineup have created necessary buzz for the film which will lock horns with a half-a-dozen other releases this Friday. The film has a 140 minute runtime.
Sreedhar, the director is best known for his short film Aayudham, which was critically acclaimed and won multiple awards in film festivals. Her’s lead actress Ruhani Sharma, who shone in Meet Cute, is also awaiting the release of Saindhav this December. Vikas Vasishta, who was last seen in Cinema Bandi and Mukhachitram, plays Ruhani’s on-screen love interest in Her.
Popular Youtuber Abhignya, who made her OTT debut with Geetha Subrahmanyam 3 and acted in MenToo, will hope to make a mark as well. While this is indeed a season of thrillers, Her Chapter 1, with its promos, is expected to be distinct in terms of its storytelling, treatment and the sensitive characterisation.
