James Cameron's magnum opus Avatar : The Way of Water has finally hit screens after a long wait. The film, which was released on December 16 across the world has been receiving heavy footfalls in theatres. And Captain Miller star Dhanush, too, ensured that he caught the show on the first day of the release. A video of the actor dressed in a black and white co-ord set, briskly leaving a popular cinema hall in Chennai, has been doing the rounds on social media. He was accompanied by his sons Yatra and Linga. The actor, too, shared his excitement on social media handle, and wrote, "ITS AVATAR DAY (sic)," along with some heart-shaped emojis. Later, he also posed for a picture with a little girl, which has gone viral on social media.

Dhanush is currently busy shooting for Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller. The actor plays a character set in the pre-independence era. The film has Priyanka Mohan playing the leading lady, along with Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken and Elango Kumaravel as part of the star cast. Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar, who is all set to make his debut in Tamil with Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer, will be playing a crucial role in the film. Music is by GV Prakash Kumar. Dhanush is also awaiting the release of Venky Atluri's Vaathi, in which he plays a teacher who takes on the corrupt education system. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady.

In the meantime, Silambarasan TR, too, had recently revealed that he watched the film in Thailand. The actor is on a vacation after wrapping up the shoot for his upcoming film Pathu Thala, helmed by Obeli N Krishna. The film, which is a remake of the Kannada film, Mufti, has Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead. There is a buzz that he will be teaming up with AR Murugadoss for his next. He also has in his kitty the sequel to Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu directed by Gautham Menon.
