Here’s how Dunki director Rajkumar Hirani will be a part of the newcomers initiative

Breaking into the entertainment industry is no mean feat, especially when it comes to new talent. But it seems that Bollywood is doing all that it can to give talented newcomers the leg up they need to make their mark in the industry they are passionate about.

The Newcomers Initiative was launched on 28th September 2022,by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Mahaveer Jain, at FICCI Frames, in the presence of some of the leading filmmakers of the nation. The unique initiative was launched with the purpose of mentoring and launching of new talents in the entertainment industry, providing guidance and opportunities to up and coming actors, writers, directors, musicians, technicians and more from all over the nation.

Now Rajkumar Hirani’s production banner, Rajkumar Hirani Films, will launch the first film that the Newcomers Initiative has planned to launch its new stars. In addition to Rajkumar Hirani Films, the upcoming film will also be produced by Jio Studios and Mahaveer Jain. Further details regarding the venture are still awaited.

Reportedly, the initiative will soon announce a slate of other films as well in collaboration with leading production houses and filmmakers.

Meanwhile, Rajkumar is currently awaiting the release of his next film, Dunki, which will see him return to the director’s chair after a gap of four years. Rajkumar’s previous directorial came in the form of Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju.

Dunki will see the popular director collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. Taapsee Pannu will portray the role of the leading lady in the film, which is scheduled for release in the second half of 2023. The film will be produced under Hirani’s banner and SRK’s banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.
