​RJ Balaji has wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming film, Singapore Saloon. Balaji plays a hair stylist in the film, which is spearheaded by Gokul of Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara' fame. The actor today announced that he has wrapped up his portions in the film, and also dropped two pictures of himself, one with his beard and the other with a clean-shaven look. He wrote on his social media handle, "And its a wrap for #SingaporeSaloon ! In theatres, Summer 2023 ! (sic)." He also announced that the film will hit screens for summer 2023.

We hear that Balaji trained with hair stylists to get into the skin of the character and that he plays a man loaded with ambitions and dreams. Thalaivasal Vijay plays his father. The title and the first look was released by Vikram director Lokesh Kanagaraj during the T20 India vs England semifinals match. Also present at the occasion was former cricketer and presenter Badrinath. Shivani Rajasekar, who had earlier appeared in Hiphop Tamizha's Anbarivu plays the leading lady.

The film's editor Selva had thanked the team for getting him on board and had shared a tweet in which he wrote, "Happy to be a part of #SingaporeSaloon, this film will motivate the young entrepreneurs. Thank you @RJ_Balaji for your continuous support & always very happy to be associated with you. Thank you @DirectorGokul sir & @VelsFilmIntl In Theatres summer 2023 (sic)." 

The film is bankrolled by Vels Film International, who had earlier directed Balaji's LKG and Mookuthi Amman.

RJ Balaji was last seen in Veetla Vishesham, which was a remake of the Hindi hit, Badhaai Ho that starred Ayushman Khurana, Sanya Malhotra, Surekha Sikhri, Gajaraj Rao and Neena Gupta. The Tamil remake had Sathyaraj, Urvashi, KPAC Lalitha and Aparna Balamurali as part of the star cast. Balaji recently celebrated two years of Mookuthi Amman and said that it will always be a special film.​
