Ever since Pa Ranjith's latest offering Natchathiram Nagargiradhu hit screens, the film has been winning praise from critics and audience alike. Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is a critical take on love, which is bound by the shackles of caste, religion, gender, class divide and many other factors. The tagline of the film, which states - Love is Political- is considered to be apt for the plot that holds up a mirror to society's definition of love. The film has Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram and Kalaiyarasan in the lead.

Actor Arya, who previously starred in Ranjith's Sarpatta Parambarai, recently watched the film and is completely in awe of it. "I went to the premiere and I really liked the way the film has been made. Ranjith is a director who is constantly evolving. He is not someone who only does certain kinds of films. The storytelling pattern in Natchathiram Nagargiradhu itself is so different from the others. So, was Sarpatta Parambarai, which was a sports drama. It took some time for me to prepare for the film."

Quiz Arya if he's constantly trying to be different with his films, and pat comes the reply, "It all depends on the director who brings the script. I think directors approach me with unique scripts because they think I might be able to do justice to the film. I am a very approachable person and I do not have too many layers. I am open to anything, be it a film with five songs, five fights, multi-starrers. As long as I know what I am doing, I am good to go. Be it Madrasapattinam, Naan Kadavul, Raja Rani or Sarpatta Parambarai, I should thank god for giving me some wonderful films in my career." Arya is now gearing up for sci-fi film, Captain, which is directed by Shakthi Soundar Rajan. The duo is teaming up for the second time after their previous collaboration Teddy.
