​There's news from the team of Aishwarya Rajesh's upcoming film, Driver Jamuna. The makers have announced that the film will hit screens in November along with a new poster from the film. Driver Jamuna is a road thriller, which is directed by P Kinslin of Vathikuchi fame. Aishwarya Rajesh, who is known for her versatility, plays a cab driver for the first time in her career. Taking to her social media page, "Finally v r coming in November #DriverJamuna is all set to release in theatres from November @kinslin @SPChowdhary3 @18Reels_ @GhibranOfficial @gokulbenoy #AnlArasu @thinkmusicindia #RRamar @ThatsKMS @reddotdzign1 @Synccinema @knackstudios_ @ahatamil @proyuvraaj (sic)."


The trailer of the film was released earlier and going by it, the story revolves around Jamuna (Aishwarya) who faces unexpected struggles after a few passengers begin to attack her and Jamuna becomes embroiled in a deadly situation involuntarily. While Gokul Benoy has handled the cinematography, editing is by R Ramar. Anl Arasu has choreographed the action scenes in the film. Art direction is by Don Bala. Driver Jamuna will also be released in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film has been bankrolled by SP Chowthari under the banner of 18 Reels.

Aishwarya Rajesh was last seen in the Amazon Prime Video series Suzhal, which was conceptualised by Pushkar-Gayatri and directed by Bramma and Anucharan. She also has in her kitty The Great Indian Kitchen, which is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. The Tamil remake directed by R Kannan has Rahul Ravindran starring opposite Aishwarya Rajesh. The plot revolves around a newly married woman who is stuck in the kitchen of her house. Nimisha Sajayan played the lead actress in the original which was directed by Jeo Baby. The film deeply delves into the concept of patriarchy, the discrimination against menstruating women who are considered 'impure' and domestic labour.
